Discussion on the breeding of shrimps

Rili shrimp breeding.

Postby ed9428 » Sat Oct 25, 2014 9:32 pm

Hi all.

I am interested in keeping and breeding blue gene red rili shrimp.
I see people talking about getting excited to see blue eggs instead of yellow, and something about blue velvet shrimp.
Is this from having something like a blue velvet male breeding with some red rili females?
Does any one know of a good rili breeding information source?

Thanks,
Ed.

Blue rili are blue shrimps that have been selectively breed from the rili gene so that there are no more red coloration. Blue velvets I believe are blue cherries selectively breed from the chocolate family. Not sure on what you will get when you try and cross them as I havent had any personal experience myself.
